Kafka vd Heffinck: An Outstanding Stallion

Kafka vd Heffinck is a remarkable stallion known for his exceptional sporting performance and breeding capabilities. With endless scope, power, and an exceptional mentality, Kafka has competed successfully at the top level of show jumping for many years. He won his first 5* Grand Prix in Athens at just 9 years old and continues to excel, recently securing another 5* win at the Helsinki World Cup Show at the age of 14. Kafka was qualified for the Tokyo Olympics at 9 years old and selected for the European Championships, along with multiple 5* wins and placings at prestigious shows such as Gothenburg, Gijon, London Olympia, Spruce Meadows., the Stuttgart German Masters and the FEI Nations Cup Final Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Longevity & Soundness

Kafka’s long career competing at the top level of show jumping all over the world is testament to his strength and soundness, a much sought-after attribute for today’s demanding sport. At just 6 years old, Kafka won the very prestigious young stallion class at Mechelen 5* in Belgium. He has competed at the top of the international show jumping stage for the following 9 years. Although Kafka now takes a break from competition to focus on breeding, his competitive career is not over, and it is planned he will make a return for the second half of the year.

Proven Offspring

Kafka’s offspring are already proving his potential as one of the best sires in the world. His earliest off-spring are now competing alongside himself on some of the biggest stages across the world. His most notable off-spring include the fantastic world-cup performer Derryglen Othello (Kafka x Bisquet Balou vd Mispelaere; 1.60m) who competes consistently at 5* Grand Prix’s, along with further up and coming performers Omagic (Kafka x Quidam de Revel; 1.55m), Derryglen Obsidian (Kafka x Clinton; 1.50m), Olisca (Kafka x Zorro; 1.50m), One Way Vd Molendreff (Kafka x Contact van de Heffinck; 1.45m & winner of the STX Cyclus for 7 year olds in Belgium) and Shakira van den Doorndonk (Kafka x Toulon; 6 year olds at World Championships in Lanaken 2024), U Love Van Heiste (Kafka x Contact van de Heffinck; 2nd at the Belgium Warmblood Elite Foal Championships Final), among many others.

Kafka is also renowned as a sire of sires, with already five approved sons, including Switch vd Heffinck (Kafka x Contact van de Heffinck), Urano v/d Posterie (Kafka x Cooper vd Heffinck), both approved by the BWP studbook and Special One (Kafka x Lamm de Fetan), which was approved by the SWB.

His strong genes consistently produce offspring with strength, scope, and exceptional temperaments. Kafka was previously ranked in the Top 10 Sires in the World by Hippomondo, based the success of their offspring at eight years old.

As Kafka now turns to focus mainly on his breeding career, we look forward to many more exciting Grand Prix horses from his offspring in the coming years.
