Jumping three unforgettable rounds in this momentous event, Cocktail showcased his genius genetics with impeccable technique, sensational scope and exceptional class.

ELITE PEDIGREE

Cocktail de Talma’s sire is the legendary Baloubet du Rouet. Rarely has there been a stallion that was so dominant, not only in sport, but also in breeding. In his long and lustrous career, he won individual Olympic Gold in Athens in 2004, three-time World Cup winners, Rolex Top Ten in Geneva winners in 2003 and 2005, among countless other victories before retiring from sport at 17 years. Baloubet du Rouet was ranked No. 1 horse in the world for several years for his sporting performance, while a decade after retiring from sport, he again became world No. 1, this time as a jumping sire based on the phenomenal success his off-spring.

Cocktail de Talma’s dam, Reggae de Talma, is ranked the best broodmare in the world, according to Hippomundo (Based on the number of Black Type offspring [performing on 1.45m and +] less than 15 years old) . Renowned for producing top-tier international show jumpers, she already has eight off-spring jumping above 1.50m, including Cocaine de Talma ridden by Jessica Springsteen and Une de l’Othain ridden by Harrie Smolders.

Reggae de Talma is by the infamous stallion, Cento, who won most of the world’s major jumping contests, such as the World Cup Final at Leipzig in 2002, as well as the ‘big two’ Grand Prix – Aachen and Calgary. He won team gold at the Sydney Games, and bronze at Athens, as well as team European Champion 2003. Retired at the age of 17, he had accumulated winnings of over one million euros, he is one of the most successful Holsteiner jumping horses of all time.

Reggae de Talma’s dam’s sire, is the celebrated stallion, Quidam de Revel, who won team bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and was fourth individually. In the same year, Quidam de Revel won the Nations Cup of Rome and Dinard, as well as the Grand Prix of Rome. The following year, he won the Nations Cup of Hickstead, second in Rotterdam and fifth in the World Cup Finals in Gothenburg. Quidam de Revel was also a renounced sire whose legacy continues through the many off-spring that jump at the top of the sport.

Reggae de Talma’s dam was the Selle Francais mare, New Eve Du Moulin, who competed herself successfully at 2* level, with notable results including 3rd in the 2* Grand Prix of Lyon. She was the dam of 3 horses who competed internationally at 1.45m.

Reggae de Talma’s grand-dam was Utopie II, who was the dam of the very successful mare, Florie du Moulin, who won Team Gold at 2001 Young Riders European Championships, winner of Lummen 5* Nations Cup, 3rd at Helsinki in the 5*GP and 5th in the World Cup, and also the dam of Gary du Moulin and Hermes du Moulin II, who both competed at 1.45m.

The elite consistency of the dam line is incredible with the next two generations of dams, both also producing off-spring that competed at 1.50m.

BREEDING POTENTIAL

Cocktail de Talma, while still a young sire himself, has already passed his tremendous genetics through to his progeny with two approved Selle Francais stallions, Ice de Menil and Ici et la Courcelle.

Cocktail de Talma’s upcoming season standing in Ireland, presents a rare and exciting window of opportunity for breeders in the country to capitalise on these ultra-elite genetics by adding them to their own lineage and enhancing their breeding programs for the future.

Once Cocktail has completed the current breeding season, he will return to pursue top-tier international jumping glory, and with all the attributes of a true Championship horse, much is expected of this outstanding stallion in the coming years.
